Portuguese Samuel Caldeira will open the season in the Volta ao Algarve next February 17 with the Continental UCI team Palmeiras Resort - Tavira. This race opens the UCI calendar in Portugal but he will take part in the Trofeu RTP Abertura next Sunday.
